While coming, I had no idea what Zostels are about, I was just looking for a safe and affordable place to stay in Ooty. What I learned in those five days that the entire Zostel concept is perfect for exploring new places, meeting amazing people at a place you have nothing to worry about (also as (foreign) woman). I stayed in the lady dorm which had everything needed and was clean. You may bring your traveller sleeping bag if you feel so. Apart from that, the food and chai was great, just take care that you order in the given timings. The wifi connection was also most of the time very stable, so that I could even work from there. All people I met there have been really kind, inspiring, and open. Last but not least: I have hardly seen such a kind and wonderful staff who made this stay to what it has been. Thank you so much, I can just recommend staying with them! :)

I had an amazing stay here. Krishna is one of the best hosts I’ve ever come across. He is so kind, generous and knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to help make your stay a good one. He is always there to help you out and gives the best recommendations. This place is so peaceful, homely, clean and affordable. It has everything you could possibly need in a hostel / guesthouse and I felt like I could unwind here. The home cooked food is also amazing. Highly recommend to everyone! I want to come back already :)

Amazing place off the beaten track. The owners are amazing and were really helpfull with the organization of activities. The structure is brand new and has a real “hostel vibe”. One of the best places we have been to in India!

The Birdhouse Backpackers Hostel, que tiene jardín y vistas a la montaña, está en Coonoor, a 22 km de Lago Ooty. Great place to stay. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Staff were great. I would 100% recommend.
